ANXA4 antibody for research
ANXA4 antibody for research is one of the members of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins. Like other members of the annexin family, ANXA4 is involved in the regulation of cell motility, cell adhesion and signaling, and the maintenance of cell shape. ANXA4 is also reported to regulate apoptosis and cellular senescence through its interaction with phosphatidylserine, the second messenger of Ca2+ ions in cells.
Recently, it was shown that ANXA4 is highly expressed in cochlear hair cells and vestibular hair cells (Cai et al., 2015; McInturff et al., 2018). In homozygous knockout mice, expression of ANXA4 protein is completely disrupted, as evidenced by immunostaining with anti-ANXA4 antibodies and RT-PCR. Furthermore, RT-PCR analysis and immunostaining with anti-cleaved caspase 3 confirm that ANXA4 is required for the survival of liver bud cells during early development.

Our study suggests that the upregulation of ANXA4 expression may contribute to the growth and chemoresistance of ovarian cancer cells. This might be due to a positive feedback loop where ANXA4 binding to phosphatidylserine activates the NF-kappaB signaling pathway and regulates the expression of several genes, resulting in chemoresistance in ovarian cancer cells.
